Still a little perplexed as to what was happening Sal sat and drank his cup of coffee while Mona studied the map that caused the accident. She was using a magnifying glass as she took notes. Then suddenly Mona looked up at Sal and said,
“How would you like to take a little excursion to Colorado Sal?”
“Sure baby, what would you like to do” the traveler said with anticipation.
With a serious glare Mona retorted,
“Get over it stud, I’m talking about this map you found. It’s a treasure map and from what I can tell, it’s for real”
With a somewhat deflated ego Sal queried,
“What are you talking about? I mean, are you serious or have you bumped your head? Take down my insurance information and I’m history sweetie. I have several thousand miles to cover in a few days and I don’t have time to hang out in Colorado looking for some so called treasure”
“Lookie here Easy Rider, this is an old Spanish treasure map and it shows the location of some buried gold I think. Call it a hunch but I think its worth a gamble to check it out. I was heading to LA to audition for a reality show. But I think this would be a better bet. So what do…”
She was cut off as Sal began,
“Hey look, I don’t have time for this. Do you want my insurance info? Because if you don’t, I’m out of here”
“Suite yourself homeboy, I gave you a chance since you found this thing in the first place. Besides, I don’t think I need to baby sit some used up biker anyway” she snapped.
“You sure have a mouth on yea, gads! So you mean to tell me that you want me to join you on some treasure hunt in the boonies in Colorado? What the hell are you smoking anyway? Sal retorted.
As she was writing down his insurance information she began to laugh,
“Francis, your middle name is Francis? This is rich; here I sit with a road warrior named Francis. Oh Francis, you better get on your little scooter and go back home, I hear your mommy calling you”
Embarrassed by the attention his middle name has gained. Sal slammed down his coffee and got up off the chair and gathered up his paper work. Then he made his way out of the restaurant and quipped,
“Stow it hag and have a nice day”
Still simmering over the indignation Sal sat on his motorcycle pondering the events that just transpired. The gal was very attractive but she had a mouth on her. He was a loner by nature and was really just traveling in any direction since he had no real destination. He was planning to visit his sister but they really did not get alone to well since he hated her husband and thought the guy was a puke and manipulator. He hated they way this guy treated his sis.
Struggling with demons from his former life, he was restless and suffered PTSD’s. He did not fit in society and cared little for the street life he once lived. In essence he was wandering in life trying to find peace of mind. As he sat there he began to remember his childhood and how he struggled to belong and find friends. The memories of the savage beatings he received from his step dad still made his blood run cold. He could still hear the sound of his mother hitting the floor as she was beaten almost to death time and time again.
His heart began to beat harder and harder in his chest as sweat began to bead on his forehead. The sound of breaking glass and his mother’s pleas began to consume his thoughts. He reached into his saddle and grabbed a bottle of Wild Turkey then took a long hard draw to ease his pain. The elixir burned all the way down his throat and the voices began to cease. Then he heard a voice,
“Sal, I’m sorry. I was out of line back there” Mona said in a civil tone.
Sal looked up at this gal and said in a macho voice,
“Forget about it, it ain’t nothing but a meatball”
He started his motorcycle and began to engage the clutch when Mona walked up to his handlebars and pressed the kill switch shutting down the motor. She looked into his eyes and said,
“So Sal, want to go to Colorado?”

Filled on coffee and something to eat. It was time to travel on. After a visit to the little girls room Rivkah got another coffee but this time to go.
It had been an interesting visit with that couple getting a lot of attention there at the end with him storming out and there she still sat deep in thought.
Outside there he was sitting on his bike deep in thought also. Oh boy that is a sure sign something is stirring!
Goodbye folks! Have a nice life, it was interesting meeting you but I need to travel on to Colorado Rivkah thought to herself.
As she adjusted her coffee cup in the holder and puts the car in gear, she looks in her mirrors as she eases out of the parking lot.
“She sees the woman walking to him.”
